Just curious if there are any fans on the board. If so, who do you follow? What do you think of your team this year? Who do you think will make the playoffs?

baseball is the only sport allowed, i played it for about 6 years.
The Dutch competition is very small and unknown, soccer get's all the attention. It's hard to follow the ML out here, but i always liked the Indians.

What position did you play? I also find it quite curious that it's the only sport allowed, unless maybe that was a semi-joking exaggeration. Why are no other sports allowed?
BTW, Indians not doing too well these days, they're on pace to finish a little bit under .500... The Indians haven't done too well since Manny Ramirez and Jim Thome have gone. They've got a good young team though, with some more pitching, they could be good next year.

i was joking, baseball rules so it should be the only one allowed.
anyway, i did a two year pitching school, it was pretty ok, we learned stuff from from the dutch national pitchers. Last couple of years i did 3th base.

I find it hard to keep up-to-date with MLB these days because the games are on at 1am. I have to be up at 6am most days so I can't afford to stay up and lose so much sleep! I kind of have a soft spot for the Red Sox because they haven't won a World (!) Series since 1906 or something.
(Incidentally, Liverpool [soccer] won the League Championship in 1906 - however, we have won the League a further 16 times since then! Alas, 'tis a tale of two teams!)
I love baseball. Just went to the Seattle Mariners/ Boston Red Sox game today. The Red Sox won 9-7, those cocsuckers!! I am from Washington so I like the Mariners. They are doing bad this year, but alot worse than what I expected. I figured they would win somewhere around 85-90 games, but holy shit they will be lucky if they win 65. I don't follow the NL too closley, but for the AL I will say for the playoffs: Rangers, Yankees, Twins, Red Sox/Athletics.

Haha... Yeah, I've heard that out of what baseball fans there are in the UK, Red Sox fans are the most prevalent. For the record, we haven't won since 1918. Every time we have gotten to the world series since then (4 times) we have lost in game 7. It's even worse for the White Sox (haven't won since 1917) and for the Cubs (haven't won since 1908, haven't even BEEN to a WS since 1946.
BTW, KMLM, both of those Sox/Mariners games were fucking painful to watch. Both sides were playing badly (with the exception of Bronson Arroyo, who had a great start in the first game, which was made to look like an awesome start by your struggling offense). Both the Sox and the Mariners this year have been huge disappointments. I'd have to imagine last year was a bigger disappoinment for Mariner fans, though. Leading the AL West for much of the year only to collapse at the end and not even make a run for the wildcard. Brutal. I'm surprised you guys never won a WS in the late 90's and early 00's, when you had guys like Griffey, A-Rod, and Randy Johnson. At least you still have Edgar Martinez. BTW, I thought it was pretty weird that they got rid of Olerud recently, he hasn't been hitting well, but I'd at least keep him on the bench maybe to pinch hit or for a defensive change late in the game. That guy's a total class act. I hope the Sox pick him up, we NEED the defense.

I'm surprised the Braves are contending this year, nobody was expecting them too. They're only one game back of the Phillies for 1st. Maybe their dominance over their division (for like 12 years or so) won't end this year after all!

they probably don't make it, seen it before...but you never know.
it was kinda crap, i see them playing against the "rockies" live in the philips stadium... they lost 5-2 :(
It was like 2 years ago, but my family over there in Atlanta is quite into baseball...as a family member, im interested in that team now too :D
