Rugby Union is an acceptable sport if there's nothing else to do, however, League sucks balls on an enormous scale. The only exciting thing ever to come out of that crappy game was the battle of the codes in the late 90's when you could see plain as day all the greedy, menacing little men behind the shitty business side of the sport getting stuck into one another & all the tv stations fighting over which code they're going to televise & all of the players wondering who the fuck they're playing for & whether their team is actually going to still be there when they wake up & all the managers buying flashier & flashier team uniforms in an effort to look as space-aged as possible in a thinly-veiled attempt to attract 'newer, younger markets' & ahhhh...life is good.

But Rugby League is not.

In any case, the only real test the true rugby goon need pass is the patented Myer's-Reid-Holanski NeckCheck(tm). The process is as follows:
1. Tester places hands around area of testee's body where the neck should be.
2. If no discernable neck can be found, they pass the NeckCheck.
3. Additionally, if they instinctively drop all their body weight on you with great force, they should be playing professionally. (If they then try to rape you, you should tell them to consider a career in AFL).

nobody plays it, its fairly similar to rugby anyway

the funnyest thing is when we play international rules football with ireland, which is a mixture of AFL which we play and of gaelic football which the irish play, in gaelic football there is no contact, where as ther is in AFL, so you always see the AFL people beating up the little nimble irish guys

I think both forms of Rugby are very good - they both have their appealing aspects. For instance, RL is faster and more tries are scored whereas RU is more tactical and relies greater on a kicking game. Of course, I won't mention England winning the Rugby Union World Cup so as not to offend any of the good Australian folk here ;)

I play Rugby union but am a keen follower of Rugby league........and all these metalheads on hear saying its gay and what not, id like to see u play one game and see how tuff you arnt and how hard and how much thought actually goess into the game........and we dont wear all that padding like american football, if u are ever in australia i invite u to play one game and then make proper judgment on the game
