i've been reading alot of the posts and from what i can gather, a lot of you, my metalhead comrades dislike korn, limp bizkit (perfectly understandable), linkin park, and other shit that claims to be nu-metal but just a brief history lesson

Nu-metal was invented by KoRn and the Deftones by down tuning 7 string guitars, and play harder and more agressive than most of the 'heavy metal' (old-metal) bands of the day ('93-'94). Of course every faget gay band then insisted on down tuning 6 strings and what not and thus is born gay bands like linkin park and limp bizkit. which polluted nu-metal the way all those damn hair-bands did to heavy metal in the 80's.

Nu-metal isnt "Nu" anymore, but still in my opinion a kick ass genre, dispite the many assholes who duplicate it.

why would you bother getting a 7 string guitar when you only use the top 6 frets on the top string?

Nu metal is pussy whiney pop with distorted guitars, pretending to be badass. Including Korn.

It probably sounds harder and more aggressive to you because it had better quality production than most heavy metal bands had. And you probably think singing about hating yourself and being weak is 'badass', or something.

Don't go calling yourself a Metalhead if all you like is nu metal, because that's not even a subgenre of Metal. It's a subgenre of pop/rock.
